What to Expect
Climb aboard with H2O Sports for a daytime cruise in search of the bottle-nose dolphins that live in the waters around Hilton Head Island. It usually doesn't take long before someone spots a pod surfacing nearby, and from there you'll watch these playful animals ride alongside the boat or surf in the wake behind it. The boat sits low to the water for clear, close-up views, making it a good chance to take some great photos of dolphins in their natural habitat.
Your experienced guide shares facts along the way, including how the shallow waters around the island give dolphins ideal places to find food. That insight helps you appreciate these intelligent creatures even more. Feeding the dolphins is against the law because it can harm their health, so the best way to enjoy them is simply by watching.
You'll meet at the H2O Sports booth next to the lighthouse and departure dock, and the tour carries up to 14 passengers. Private tours are also available; call for details.
