Ohana Ranch Epic Coffee Tour
Big Island - Hawaii
What to Expect
Experience Hawaiian coffee where it truly begins
— on a working coffee farm on Big Island. This guided farm-to-cup coffee tour offers an immersive look into how Hawaiian coffee is grown, cultivated, roasted, and prepared, located just minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
After check-in, you’ll hop into an ATV with your local guide and explore the coffee farm while learning about the history of coffee cultivation in this region, dating back to the 1820s. Along the way, you’ll see how young coffee trees are grown and cared for today and gain insight into sustainable farming practices used on the property.
Guests will plant their own Hawaiian coffee tree, creating a hands-on connection to the land and the future of coffee farming in Hawaii. The tour continues by following the full coffee journey from tree to cup, including how coffee is harvested, processed, and prepared.
You’ll then participate in the roasting and bagging of coffee right on the farm, experiencing firsthand how green coffee beans are transformed into freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee. This hands-on portion completes a true farm-to-cup Hawaiian coffee experience.
As you explore different areas of the farm, your guide will explain how Hawaiʻi’s volcanic soil, elevation, and climate contribute to the flavor and quality of Hawaiian coffee. You’ll also hear local stories about the cultural, agricultural, and environmental importance of coffee in the islands.
The experience concludes with a tasting of freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee, bringing the entire farm-to-cup journey together and highlighting the care, craftsmanship, and connection behind every cup.
Ideal for coffee lovers, culture seekers, and visitors exploring the Volcano area, this guided Hawaiian coffee tour is one of the most authentic and educational coffee experiences on the Big Island.
