What to Expect

Advanced open water is designed to strengthen your skillsets as a diver. Advanced open water course certifies you to dive up to 100 feet while trying out a variety of specialty courses, like deep dive, fish identification, navigation, and peak performance buoyancy. We offer NAUI and PADI options to learn open water and display all prices below. We encourage you to call or email us to book.

Course Description

The Advanced Open Water course includes the following components:

  • E-learning course (PADI or NAUI)
  • Five (PADI) or six (NAUI) ocean dives​
    -Peak performance buoyancy (PADI)
    -Underwater navigation     (PADI/NAUI)
    -Deep dive (PADI/NAUI)​
    -Night dive     (NAUI)
    -Other specialty dives available, like underwater naturalist, fish identification, search and recovery, boat dive (additional charge required)

Note: you must have open water certification in order to pursue advanced open water certification. Your advanced certification does not need to be issued from the same agency where you completed open water. For example, you may pursue a PADI open water and a NAUI advanced open water or a NAUI open water and a PADI advanced open water certification.

Our Pricing

Our pricing reflects the cost for private instruction. Here is sample pricing for an individual private advanced open water class. We offer discounts for private groups between 2-8 students so you can invite your family and friends to get certified with you.​

  • Course fee: $700
  • NAUI E-Learning: $100 
  • Rental equipment: $80-100/day depending on gear package needed 
    Total Cost: $960 - $1000

When comparing our cost to other scuba schools, consider their private course costs and the cost of rentals or required gear purchases for a more accurate comparison. We are fully transparent in our pricing - there are no hidden fees or additional costs the day of your course.

Cancellation Policy

E-Learning purchase is final and cannot be refunded. We offer full refunds for bookings cancelled more than 72 hours in advance (excluding E-Learning). We offer a 50% refund for bookings cancelled between 72-24 hours in advance. We do not offer refunds for bookings cancelled less than 24 hours before the class. In the event of unsafe diving conditions, we will offer you a rescheduled class or credit with Central Coast Scuba.
