Autumn Color - Harvest Flyer
1 Hour • 7 mile ride • Evening Ride with Hot Apple Cider and a Donut • 1 Day only, Oct 17
What to Expect
Celebrate fall aboard the Harvest Flyer, a 55-minute, seven-mile round-trip through a valley in rural Sauk County aboard restored early-1900s coach cars pulled by a diesel locomotive.
Rides depart from a historic 1894 wooden depot with an authentically attired conductor.
The 4:30 PM departure highlights fall foliage with dramatic side lighting. The second departure at 6:00 PM is a rare opportunity at Mid-Continent to take a sunset/twilight train ride. Fall foliage will not be visible during the 6:00 PM departure. Cars are enclosed but not heated, and windows open for ventilation. The museum’s coach sheds and outdoor yard displays of nearly 40 cars and locomotives extend the experience before or after your ride.
