Designed for beginners with no prior experience, this course covers all the essential knowledge and skills needed to earn your US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification. Our certified instructors will guide you from the ground up, ensuring you develop the confidence and ability to safely skipper a tiller-steered keelboat (up to 27 feet) in familiar waters with winds ranging from 5 to 15 knots.
Please read your Basic Keelboat textbook before class. Textbooks are available at the Windworks office—free for members; non-members must purchase separately.
If you would like to join the Windworks Membership Club by the last day of your Basic Keelboat class, we will deduct the difference of the non member vs member price OFF the initiation fee. This offer expires 7 days after your BK class.
🎉 Bonus for Members! Graduates receive a FREE 8-hour Catalina Capri 22 day sail upon certification.
