What to Expect
2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS FROM 9AM-5PM
Join Captain Giorgio for two days of back-to-back, intensive, hands-on docking skills. You’ll begin the morning with theory, best practices for both skipper and crew, then transition right into non-stop repetitive drills throughout the rest of the day. You’ll practice a lot during the first day, then do it all over again the next day to home in and solidify your skills and build confidence.
Prerequisite: Basic Cruising Certified
Topics and Practice Drills
- Fenders: placement and tying (including use of a roving fender).
- Lines: preparation for ease of use.
- Prop Walk: how to determine right/left hand prop walk on any boat and how to use it.
- Crew Commands: how to direct your crew to safely assist you while docking, including how to step off the boat and secure lines on the dock cleats to assist the skipper.
- Maneuverability: boat handling in a marina (forward and astern).
- Back and Fill: how to conduct a three-point turn in tight quarters.
- Departures and Arrivals: how to dock smoothly and safely the same way every time.
- Spring Lines: How to spring off the dock.

Cancellation Policy
The course is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another course or session, except under the following conditions:
nFor courses purchased at the regular rate: If cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the scheduled start date, you have two options:

- Pay a $175 cancellation fee per person, and the remaining balance will be refunded, OR n
- Pay a $100 rebooking fee per person to reschedule the course to a future session. n
Same-day cancellations:
n- A $175 cancellation fee per person will be charged, and rescheduling will not be allowed.
Discounted lessons are non refundable
nWindworks reserves the right to reschedule a lesson due to adverse weather conditions, instructor availability, or any other factor which, in the sole and absolute discretion of Windworks, might adversely affect the safety of students, instructors, or vessels. This cancellation may be made by Windworks at any time before the start of the course.
nIf Windworks must reschedule a reservation, due to instructor availability, low enrollment, adverse weather conditions or forecasts, or any other event, the participant will be rescheduled to the next available class session as determined by that student.
