What to Expect

Our Introduction to Tides and Currents course guides students through the concepts behind tidal exchanges and currents, including how to integrate tide and current predictions into small boat trip planning. By the end of the course, students should be able to plot a simple afternoon or multi-day trip. This course is great for boaters of all types and skill-levels.

Cost: We ask for a minimum donation of $20.

0-10 min Introduction, Housekeeping
10-70 min PowerPoint – Tides and Currents in the San Juan Islands
70-85 min Introduce Resources used in Planning
85-90 min Finish up, Assign Homework, Demo Resource Folder

10-25 min Homework Review
25-50 min PowerPoint – Scenarios, using planning Resources
50-85 min Review Student Scenarios
