Adaptive Sailing Private Lesson
3 hours
What to Expect
Adaptive Sailing Private Lessons offer personalized, one-on-one instruction for individuals with disabilities who want to develop sailing skills at their own pace. During this three-hour session, participants work directly with a trained instructor to build confidence on the water, learn boat handling techniques, and develop the knowledge needed to safely and independently operate an adaptive sailboat.
Lessons are customized to each sailor's interests, experience level, and abilities. Whether you're stepping into a sailboat for the first time or looking to refine advanced skills, instruction may include sail trim, steering, points of sail, docking, launching, safety procedures, and independent boat operation. Our adaptive fleet is equipped with specialized accommodations to support a wide range of physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities.
These lessons are designed to provide a pathway for continued growth in the sport of sailing. As skills develop, participants may progress toward independent sailing, recreational outings, volunteer opportunities, and regional adaptive sailing events. Our goal is to empower every sailor with the skills, confidence, and support needed to pursue a lifelong passion for being on the water.
We do not want cost to be a barrier from participation, our scholarship program can be found here.
Next Step: Beginner Keelboat Sailing or private lessons.
