Adaptive Sailing Discovery Session
1.5 hours
What to Expect
The Community Boating Center's Adaptive "Try It Out" Sailing Session is an opportunity for individuals with limited mobility to experience the joy of sailing on Bellingham Bay. During this 1.5-hour session, participants will sail aboard specially equipped adaptive sailboats with support from trained instructors and volunteers. Whether you'd like to take the helm, trim the sails, or simply enjoy being on the water, we'll tailor the experience to your interests, abilities, and comfort level.
No sailing experience is necessary. Our adaptive fleet includes specialized equipment and a variety of accommodations to support a wide range of physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities. Everyone is welcome, and our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and empowering introduction to sailing.
The Community Boating Center believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to connect with the water. Through our growing Adaptive Sailing Program, we are working to remove barriers and create meaningful, lifelong opportunities for recreation, skill development, and community on Bellingham Bay.
If this is your first adaptive sail with the CBC please complete this intake form.
We do not want cost to be a barrier from participation, our scholarship program can be found here.
Next Step: private lessons.
