What to Expect

Take a four-day wilderness adventure down the Upper James River Water Trail, starting below the confluence where the Jackson and Cowpasture Rivers form the James. Paddle through remote sections and the Virginia Scenic River stretch, camp at primitive riverside sites. This trip is designed for those looking to relax, disconnect, and experience several days of river travel.

Restrictions

This trip is UNGUIDED, customers must be able to paddle and navigate up to class II rapids, and be able to recover a boat on their own without aid of the outfitter.

Participants must be able to paddle and camp in wilderness for 4 days

Not recommended for anyone over 350 lbs.

You must have at least two (2) people in your party to book a trip. Solo paddlers are NOT permitted.

4 Day/3 Night, 44 miles total, Day one: 8 miles, Day two: 17.2 miles, Day three: 14.4 miles, Day four: 4.5 miles
