What to Expect

This popular half-day self-guided river trip offers about nine miles of paddling through scenic mountain terrain and fun Class II rapids, including the challenging Ritchie’s Falls. Guests are shuttled upstream to Horseshoe Bend public boat ramp to launch and then paddle back downstream to the riverside store in Buchanan. The route finishes where cars are parked, providing flexible take-out options and opportunities for fishing along the way. First-time paddlers may prefer a shorter, easier trip.
