What to Expect
This two-day, 22-mile self-guided trip on the Upper James River lets you paddle from Eagle Rock to Buchanan while camping at Horseshoe Bend Campground twice. Guests begin their trip at Horseshoe Bend campground the night before their river trip begins. The next day groups will drive to Twin River Outfitters in Buchanan to receive a safety orientation and dry bags. You will leave your gear at Horseshoe Bend the first day as you will return to this campsite for the second night. TRO will shuttle your group to the Eagle Rock Boat Launch to begin your trip. You will end at the Twin River Outfitter shop in Buchanan.

Restrictions
This trip is UNGUIDED, customers must be able to paddle and navigate up to class II rapids, and be able to recover a boat on their own without aid of the outfitter.
Participants must be able to paddle and camp in wilderness for 2 days
Not recommended for anyone over 350 lbs.
You must have at least two (2) people in your party to book a trip. Solo paddlers are NOT permitted.
