Technical Canyoneering Course - UT

This 3-day technical canyoneering and canyon leadership course is designed for those who want to develop the skills and experience needed to safely navigate canyons as part of a team.

Over three full days in the field, you’ll gain hands-on experience with essential canyoneering systems, including anchors, knot tying, rope management, and technical movement through canyon terrain. Instruction is methodical and sequential, allowing you to build understanding step-by-step while applying each concept in real canyon environments.

This is not a classroom course. You’ll spend each day immersed in the canyon, learning through direct application, problem solving, and guided practice.

A key focus of the course is leadership—developing the ability to assess terrain, make decisions, and safely manage a group. By the final day, participants take an active role in route selection, anchor setup, and team safety under professional instructor guidance.

The course is tailored to your experience level and goals, creating a personalized learning environment that emphasizes both technical skills and sound judgment in the canyon.
