• Minimum Age: We suggest a minimum age of 12 for the Mail Slot trips. Exceptions are sometimes made, so please give us a call or shoot us an email to discuss your options.
• Rappels: 4 - (140ft/43m, 165ft/50m, 90ft/27m, 90ft/27m)
• Climbing: There are a couple of short, easy fifth class sections of near vertical rock on the exit.
• Total Distance: 4mi/6.5km
• Total Ascent/Descent: 800ft/244m

Tour Description

We consider the Mail slot to be the best, hidden slot canyon in the Moab area. A short walk at the beginning of our adventure brings us to our first rappel and fantastic scenery. Soak in the views of the dramatic drop in the cliff, and mountain tops on the horizon. Mail slot has 4 rappels, 140ft, 165ft, and two 90ft rappels. After we've reached the canyon floor, we'll explore the narrows a bit further until they end and we gear up to hike out. The hike out is steep for a section and then mellows out quite a bit - well worth the views as you get closer to the top! This is suitable for adventurous folks who want a longer outing, and don't want to see another soul all day!
