What to Expect

Historic Flight Experience

Strap in to an authentic WWII Training aircraft for a scenic tour. Experience history like never before from the front seat of an open-cockpit biplane

The flight duration is approximately twenty-five to thirty minutes in the air. The entire Living History Flight Experience takes approximately 1 hour.

"Betty", our 1943 Stearman biplane rolled off the assembly line in Wichita Kansas on May 7, 1943. This aircraft was one of over 10,000 produced as a primary trainer and used for military pilot training for both the US Army Air Corps and US Naval Aviation.

Includes

  • Pre-boarding: crew/passenger briefing and paperwork

  • Pre-Flight: Learn about the history of "Betty", and complete a comprehensive inspection with your pilot

  • Boarding: Passenger placement, seat belt check
    Engine start-up/Run-up: Before take off, run-up of engines and taxi to active runway

  • Flight time (airborne): Narrated aerial tour lasting about 20-30 minutes

  • Landing/Taxi/Engine shut down: Safe return back to base and taxi back to the area where you boarded the plane

  • Disembark: Once the plane is secure and the crew has opened the exit(s)

Total Time on Board: Your entire experience is expected to last about – 40-45 minutes.

Restrictions

Passengers must weigh less than 250 lbs. They must have no physical condition or limitations which would make it impossible for them to get out of the aircraft unassisted and must be able to communicate with the pilot via the intercom.
