Duration:

2 days (4 hours classroom combined with 12 hrs of water experience)

ABOUT

This 2-day course is designed for individuals with limited or no sailing experience. We highly recommend this for the novice sailor. Instruction is broken up between on the water and classroom time.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

-knowledge of basic auxiliary power theory
-engine and steering controls in small quarters and in marina setting
-proper use of dock lines, line handling, knot tying, crew communication and safety throughout arrival and departure of vessel
-forces that act upon boat and how to control them
-Will complete docking styles of bow-in, stern-in and side-tie several times over

Prerequisite: Willingness to have a good time.

All of our instructors are US Coast Guard Licensed and ASA Certified.

At SailTime Houston classes are taught aboard the NEWEST and most MODERN fleet of monohulls and catamarans in the area.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy:

At SailTime Houston, we prioritize your satisfaction and strive to provide the best learning and sailing experience possible. In case of adverse weather conditions, instructor availability, or low-class attendance, our firm reschedule policy comes into effect.

As a proactive measure, our classes run at 50% capacity. If the class has only 1-2 students, we will first try to reschedule the course to a more suitable time. If rescheduling isn't possible, we will then proceed with refunds as necessary. Alternatively, we may offer the option of a private rate, which can be discussed during the purchase process.

While we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, we kindly ask our customers to consider these rescheduling & cancellation policies:

CANCELLATION: To be eligible for a full refund (minus a $95.00 processing fee), course registration must be canceled at least TWENTY-ONE DAYS prior to the course's start date.

RESCHEDULING: Rescheduling request must happen FOURTEEN DAYS prior to the course start date. If Eligible, a 20% processing fee will be accessed. If the request is after FOURTEEN DAY window prior to course start date another 20% fee will be charged and processed. Limit of 1 request per course or.

Please note that full refunds and cancellations are considered a last resort, and we truly understand the impact of emergencies. In such cases, we request your understanding and as much notice as possible when canceling or rescheduling becomes necessary.
