Description
- Learn how to sail a 38ft rigged catamaran, auxiliary powered during a 3 day cruise to in moderate/heavy winds and sea conditions.
- Learn about provisioning, galley operations, boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, routine maintenance procedures, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation including basic chart plotting and GPS operation, docking, health & safety, emergency operations, weather interpretation, and dinghy/tender operation.
- Learn about catamaran structure, components and features, performance under sail and power, boat systems, seamanship and safety, heavy weather operation, and emergency response.
Prerequisites:
ASA 101 - Basic Keelboat Sailing Class and the ability to demonstrate competency in all knowledge and skills elements of those standards.
Recommendations
ASA recommends a minimum of 24-80 sailing hours before undertaking ASA 103 & ASA 104 Combination.
Additional Information
All of our instructors are US Coast Guard Licensed and ASA Certified.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy:
At SailTime Houston, we prioritize your satisfaction and strive to provide the best learning and sailing experience possible. In case of adverse weather conditions, instructor availability, or low-class attendance, our firm reschedule policy comes into effect.
As a proactive measure, our classes run at 50% capacity. If the class has only 1-2 students, we will first try to reschedule the course to a more suitable time. If rescheduling isn't possible, we will then proceed with refunds as necessary. Alternatively, we may offer the option of a private rate, which can be discussed during the purchase process.
While we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, we kindly ask our customers to consider these rescheduling & cancellation policies:
CANCELLATION: To be eligible for a full refund (minus a $95.00 processing fee), course registration must be canceled at least TWENTY-ONE DAYS prior to the course's start date.
RESCHEDULING: Rescheduling request must happen FOURTEEN DAYS prior to the course start date. If Eligible, a 20% processing fee will be accessed. If the request is after FOURTEEN DAY window prior to course start date another 20% fee will be charged and processed. Limit of 1 request per course.
Please note that full refunds and cancellations are considered a last resort, and we truly understand the impact of emergencies. In such cases, we request your understanding and as much notice as possible when canceling or rescheduling becomes necessary.
