What to Expect

  • This ride is recommended for people who are athletic, adventurous, and have MORE riding experience. These trails are long and exciting, but can be VERY steep, narrow, and technical! This ride can be uncomfortable and overwhelming for those who do not have any/much experience riding.

  • Get your boots and cowboy hat on!!! An adventurous ride through Big Bend Ranch State Park lays ahead of you. Ride through the rugged terrain, navigating colorful volcanic rocks and numerous types of cacti. Climb 900 feet to the top of the mesa and drop down the other side for spectacular views on your trusty mount. Ride for hours underneath the Chihuahuan Desert sun, on the border of Texas & Mexico with mountains all around!

  • This ride is nose-to-tail at a walk

  • We ride horses, donkeys, and mules!!

Includes

Lunch is provided out on trail. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
smoked chicken, cheese & crackers, sides likes carrots or pickles, a delicious black bean salad, fruit, and cookies!

Restrictions

  • Weight Limit of 250 LBS

  • These trails are quite rocky, rugged, and are considered very steep in some sections. We will ride along the side of edges of cliffs and canyons and some parts of trail gain a lot of elevation in a short period of time.

  • Each rider should be in good health and athletic shape! You MUST be able to mount your horse or mule by yourself and stay balanced appropriately!!!

  • We recommend having more riding experience for this ride. This ride is a long time to be in the saddle for a beginner and could be very uncomfortable. If you've never ridden before but are interested in riding in the state park, join us for a 3HR or 1/2 DAY first!
