Bear Habitat Admission
Bear Habitat Admission
What to Expect
Bears that lose their natural fear of humans face a challenging future – one that often leads to being unable to return to the wild. In the wild, many bears live only 8–10 years due to dangers like litter consumption, hunting, or traffic accidents. But in a carefully managed environment where they are well cared for, these bears can live much longer – sometimes over 25 years. At our habitat, we strive to offer a safer, more comfortable life for these bears and raise awareness of how critical it is to maintain their wild instincts and support our ongoing conservation efforts.
Thank you for joining us in the Smokies and for taking the time to learn more about our iconic Smoky Mountain black bears. Your support helps us provide the best care possible and spread the message of conservation.
