Lunch in the Backcountry in 1776
What to Expect
Step back in time with Historian Ben Barrington as he tells
the story of Tennessee's first permanent white settlers, the
William Bean Family. You will get a feeling of backcountry
life during 1776 as Ben invites you to help make 2
meals. The first is a meal for a 'Community Under Siege'
as Fort Watauga is attacked and Lydia Bean is taken by the Cherokee. The second meal is a 'Celebration Dinner' when Lydia Bean is returned from her captivity. The guests will cook these two meals with coaching from Ben and his volunteer staff.
