What to Expect
ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising – American Sailing Association Certification Course
ASA 103 teaches the intermediate sailor the required skills to cruise safely as both skipper and crew on an auxiliary powered sailboat in near-coastal waters. Learn cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather, safety and seamanship.
Pre-Requisites:ASA 101
Included: Instructional Materials & Testing, Meals while Onboard
3 student limit per class, unless stated.
All courses require a non-refundable 15% deposit. Once received, all instructional materials will be mailed to you.
What Is Not Included?
- Motion Sickness Remedies. While most of our guests are fine sailing on the ocean, some are concerned about potential sea sickness or queesy-ness. We have seen Dramamine, Bonine • and other medications, pressure point wrist bands, patches behind the ear, and more being used. These can typically be purchased at a pharmacy store.
