Visit Hopsewee Plantation for a living in history weekend hosted by the Britton's Neck Militia. Participants recreate daily life from the American Revolution, demonstrating activities of daily live including hearthside cooking, dressmaking, surveying, furniture making and joinery while maintaining a military encampment. Militia members shed modern conveniences and remain on-site during Hopsewee's regular hours, welcoming visitors to observe demonstrations and ask about period techniques, tools and lifestyles.
