About
Whether you're a curious naturalist, history nerd, love picking up shells, looking for Megalodon teeth, or just want to sit with your beach chair, umbrella and cooler, you will enjoy this magnificent island.
Depending on tides (and daily tours) we can drop you off to explore Morris Island on your own. We typically recommend a falling tide, so there's plenty of beach, and the tides shift daily, so please call to discuss the best option for your desired day.
Logistics
This is a completely self-guided adventure, so your Captain will drop you near the Morris Island Lighthouse on the south end. Your group will be on the island for 3-4 hours, and you will arrange the firm meeting time/spot with your Captain at drop off.
This will give you the freedom to explore the uninhabited island and have fun creating your own experience. Many people are looking for whelk shells, shark teeth, and Civil War relics, but we highly encourage leaving nature as you found it, aka no walking on the dunes nor through the grasses and leaving shells where you found them.
Important Information
Please note, we are unable to return to Morris before the agreed upon pickup time, because this tour is planned around other scheduled tours, so please be prepared to be on the island for 3-4 hours, without any buildings, i.e. stores and restrooms.

nBecause boat charters difficult to rebook, we maintain a firm cancellation policy.
nCancellations
n* Cancellations within 48 hours of your tour are non-refundable.
n* We do offer Trip Protection, which allows cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours prior to departure in qualifying circumstances.
n * No-shows and late arrivals are not eligible for refunds. (We will hold the boat and try to accommodate as long as it doesn’t interfere with other tours.
Weather
nCharleston’s coastal weather is highly localized and constantly changing.
n* We do not cancel due to weather until approximately one hour before departure.
n* Please do not rely on weather apps or extended forecasts. The Folly Bubble is a real thing. It can be raining downtown and Sunny on Folly.
n* If conditions are deemed unsafe by the captain, you will be contacted directly to discuss options.
nIf we cancel due to unsafe conditions, you will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund. If the tour runs as scheduled and you choose not to attend, standard cancellation policies apply.
