Discover Scuba Diving for 1st Time Divers

This amazing experience is truly incredible. Sure, snorkeling is awesome, but I liken it to being a bird, observing the reef and all it's activity. When you are diving, you become a part of their world. It's magical.

Ruthie has a very special ability to calm nerves and work through all the issues that are common for first time divers. If you haven't already, watch her video on water anxiety and fears of breathing with your face down. We see this in at least 40% of all first timers that usually keeps them from trying... but really, try again.

The first tank is used to do some basic training, in clear water just under the boat. Typical depth is about 15 feet. Then we have a full dive all together.

Their keen attention to detail, safety plans, use of descent lines and very small groups make diving much easier and more comfortable, especially for new divers or for those who have been out of the water for some time. Ruthie is a PADI Instructor and has helped tons of divers through issues like equalizing ears, water anxiety, mask issues, etc. Her style of teaching calms nerves and is a refreshing spirit in the world of scuba diving.

Ruthie loves to teach your group all about coral reefs, the different kinds of corals, soft corals and sea sponges. Her Fish ID class is great, but she prepares a great video of all the fish you saw and the names of each fish are on the video. You will receive access to all of the raw video clips and a whole movie of the highlights of your special day on the Dragon Fruit.

We have 7 reefs to choose from and where we go is entirely dependent on weather, wind and visibility. We cut no corners, ever. Our concerns are your happiness and safety, not always in that order. All of our trips are 2 tank dives. Use of all scuba gear, fins, masks, tanks and weights are included. Min age is 10.

You can expect to eat a fabulous sandwich spread, prepared by the Captain accompanied with homemade hummus, corn chips, fresh fruit and a wide variety of soda, water and Medalla beer. Be sure to let us know if anyone has dietary restrictions or allergies.

We often get asked if we can mix activities on a private charter. So, if half want to dive and half want to snorkel, or one diver, or whichever... we will accommodate. Most times those are one tank dives because we usually snorkel together as a group and then dive a bit later, We usually work out those details with each family based on specific needs and experience.

Have you ever wanted to try scuba diving before you make the commitment to be fully certified?   This life-changing experience is for beginners aged 10 and up and Ruthie will be the professional PADI Instructor who will teach you the fundamentals of scuba diving and then take you on your first ever experience under the sea. 
While you discover SCUBA diving, the beauty and calm under the ocean’s surface is truly an opportunity not to be missed. 
Ruthie has extensive experience working with people with water anxiety and issues clearing your ears! This is the time and she is the one who can help you overcome your fear and feel safe underwater!

You will learn basic diving skills like recovering a dropped regulator, clearing your mask & equalizing your ears. You will receive a basic education that will help you to understand dive gear, and safety protocols and overcome any anxiety that often comes with your first time to experience breathing under the water. This is a fantastic way to find out if scuba is right for you. Your private PADI Instructor, Ruthie will help you with each step and be sure that you are very comfortable embarking on your first real dive on one of our local beautiful coral reefs.
