More info

• Both workshops (geology and rock climbing) can be offered in the same visit or separately.
• The length of the individual workshops, i.e. if you take 1 of the two, will depend on the number of people per session but is approximately 2-3 hours. Recommended number per session: 10-15 people. There may be multiple sessions per day and/or multiple days for these purposes. Example: 8:30am / 10:30am / 1:30pm / 3:30pm.
• For the Rock Climbing workshop, the requirements set out in the most up-to-date document by Boys Scouts of America (BSA) are covered: Climbing Merit Badge | Boy Scouts of America (scouting.org). This theoretical workshop costs $30 per person.

For the practical part of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to rock climb with climbing guides who will ensure their safety, using the Top Rope technique, the accepted technique for all beginners, and providing a safe environment and the necessary specialized equipment. The special cost for groups of 10 participants or more is $55 and will include 3 different climbs of up to 35 feet high each.

The Geology Workshop is offered by geologist Marianela Mercado, who delicately adapts the general content of the document presented by BSA to the context of Puerto Rico. For this workshop, the requirements set forth in the most up-to-date document at: Geology Merit Badge | Boy Scouts of America (scouting.org) are covered.
