Historic and Cultural Tour of Old San Juan and Beyond

Embark on an overview of Puerto Rico’s rich history and culture as you learn about some of the most iconic landmarks of Old San Juan and its surroundings.

We’ll take you around San Juan in an air-conditioned vehicle. As we drive, you’ll learn about this city’s 500+ years of history as we tell you about El Capitolio, a symbol of Puerto Rico’s government and San Cristóbal Fortress, a majestic fort built by the Spanish to defend the city from enemy attacks.
When we reach El Morro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we’ll stop for pictures as you hear about its importance. Then we’ll go to the historic San Juan Bautista Cathedral, home to the remains of explorer Juan Ponce de León and take you on a stroll to the San Juan Gate, the only remaining entrance to the city. We’ll cross the San Juan Gate to enjoy a nice, short walk along the Bay of San Juan.
Afterward, we’ll travel to Catano, a strategic spot offering unique panoramic views of El Morro from across the bay—perfect for capturing stunning photos.

Our next stop is the renowned Ron Barrilito Distillery, where you’ll enjoy a taste of a local drink.
For lunch, we’ll head to Piñones (in Loiza) to eat in a delicious seaside restaurant featuring authentic, local fritters, local beer and piña colada. Enjoy the ocean breeze as you savor the flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine.

Finally, we’ll take advantage of the beautiful Caribbean weather by taking the opportunity to enjoy a dip or a swim in the river or the beach (we decide as a group).
