What to Expect
At Hacienda La Tradición in the mountains of Utuado, join a hands-on coffee experience that guides you through harvesting ripe cherries, peeling by hand, and laying beans out to dry on African-style beds. Enjoy fresh mountain-grown coffee and local bread on arrival, participate in every step of processing, and finish with a second cup and a light local lunch. You can have up to 1 lb of your harvest shipped to you as green beans or roasted by the farm once processing is complete.
Includes
Welcome coffee and fresh local bread on arrival (juice or water available for kids).
Guided tour of the farm with an explanation of proper coffee harvesting.
Hands-on participation in harvesting, peeling, and drying your coffee.
A second cup of coffee and a light local lunch after processing your harvest.
Shipping of up to 1 lb of the coffee you harvested once it is fully processed; choice of green beans or roasted beans.
Restrictions
Harvesting and walking on the farm involves uneven terrain, slopes, rocks, mud, and natural obstacles; proper footwear is required. The experience requires moderate physical activity and is not recommended for those with certain mobility issues or health conditions. No pets are allowed in the coffee fields for health and safety.
