React Right

The SSI React Right Specialty certification is a comprehensive first aid and emergency response course designed specifically for divers and water enthusiasts. It equips you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize and respond effectively to medical emergencies both in and out of the water.

This program covers primary and secondary care techniques. You’ll learn how to assess emergency situations, provide first aid for common injuries, and deliver life-saving care in critical moments. Core topics include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and basic first aid procedures such as bleeding control, shock management, and injury assessment.

A key component of the course is oxygen administration—an essential skill in diving-related emergencies. You’ll practice delivering emergency oxygen to a breathing or non-breathing diver, which can significantly improve outcomes in cases like decompression sickness or lung overexpansion injuries.

Training is highly hands-on, with realistic scenarios that build confidence in managing stress and acting quickly. You’ll practice skills individually and as part of a team, reinforcing communication and coordination during emergencies.

By the end of the certification, you’ll be able to:

Perform CPR and use an AED effectively

Provide first aid for a wide range of injuries and illnesses

Administer emergency oxygen in diving scenarios

Assess and manage emergency situations with confidence

The SSI React Right Specialty is a prerequisite for advanced diver training and leadership programs. More importantly, it prepares you to assist others in critical situations, making you a safer and more responsible dive buddy.
