What to Expect

The only thing better than kayaking is kayaking with your canine companion! Join other dog lovers at the lake for a leisurely trip around North Park Lake. Whether your dog is a seasoned paddler or just hitting the water for the first time, they're sure to enjoy this event!

We strongly encourage lifejackets for dogs. If you have your own to bring that's great! We have multiple sizes at the Boathouse, but cannot guarantee they will fit your specific dog.

Trip Leaders

Our trained Paddle Excursionists will go over how to use common kayaking gear on land and then will guide the group on the water while offering suggestions to improve paddling techniques.

Activity level

Beginner - This is a slow paced paddle designed for kayakers and pups with little to no experience on the water. North Park Lake is a flatwater lake with no current and motorized watercraft are prohibited. It is a great environment for new paddlers!

Distance

Our distance traveled on the lake will depend on the pace the group needs, but you can plan to spend roughly one and a half hours on the lake.

Ticket Sales

Tickets will be available up to the event start time.

By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge that you are physically able to undertake the activity described above.

Includes

Want to bring your own kayak, paddle, and PFD? Awesome! PFDs must be U.S. Coast Guard Approved and worn for the duration of the class. Please ensure your non-motorized kayak is in seaworthy condition. Our staff will inspect your boat before the class begins. Should they deem it not suitable for the class, one of our rental kayaks will be provided.
