Outing - Pride Kayaking - Downtown

Are you a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community looking to meet others and spend time outside celebrating queer joy? Meet at our Downtown Community Hub where we’ll introduce ourselves and run through the basics of kayaking. Once everyone is equipped with a boat, paddle, and life jacket we’ll paddle out to explore the river together on this relaxed paced paddle.

Trip Leaders

Our trained Kayak Pittsburgh Excursionists will go over how to use common kayaking gear on land and then will guide the group on the water.

Activity level

Beginner - This is a slow paced, introductory paddle designed for kayakers with little to no experience. The Allegheny is a great river to learn and practice kayaking, but if you'd rather join us on the lake, sign up for one of our North Park Pride Paddles!

Age requirements

All paddlers are required to be at least 35lbs and 3 years of age. Anyone under the age of 13 MUST be in a tandem kayak with an adult. Each paddler must still have their own ticket.

Distance

Participants can expect to cover roughly 1-1.5 miles on the river.

Reservations close 24 hours before the start of the event.
