Hostling Tour
Behind-the-Scenes • 2.5 Hours
What to Expect
Spend a morning "around the turntable" and get an in-depth look at how our crews prepare Locomotive No. 16 for a day of service at the East Broad Top Railroad!
In railroad vernacular, a "Hostler" is the person responsible for getting a steam locomotive ready for the rails! You and a small group of visitors will be led by a knowledgeable guide who will take you behind the scenes with the engine crew while they inspect the locomotive, oil around, prepare the coal fire, and all of the other tasks necessary for a full day of operation.
You'll also enjoy unique photo opportunities, learn more about the EBT's unique fleet of steam locomotives, and even take a tour of the cab!
