Allegheny Rail Riders (Rail Bikes)
Ages 2+ • 1 Hour • 3 Mile Round Trip
What to Expect
Experience the East Broad Top like never before with our brand new Rail Bike Adventures, a unique pedal-powered journey along the historic Shade Gap Branch. This one-of-a-kind experience invites you to ride the rails through some of Huntingdon County’s most scenic and storied landscapes.
Your one-hour, three-mile round-trip rail bike ride follows a quiet stretch of track once used to serve the iron and coal industries of the Broad Top region. Along the way, you’ll pass the evocative ruins of the Rockhill Iron Furnace, pedal beside the peaceful waters of Blacklog Creek, and travel through rolling farmland and shaded forests that showcase the natural beauty of the Appalachian foothills.
Perfect for couples, families, and outdoor enthusiasts, the EBT's Rail Bike Adventures blends light adventure with history and scenery.
