Wheelthrowing 102: Wednesday Evenings

This class takes place at Black Hound Clay Studio West: 715 South 50th Street, West Philadelphia.

This class is designed for the experienced beginner in mind. If you have some previous wheel throwing experience and are looking to push your skills to the next level, this class is for you. Students will be led through warm-up throwing exercises and activities to help improve their technical ability and troubleshoot problem areas.

We will focus on lifting taller, thinner, and more consistent walls, shaping, trimming, surface design, and attachments. Students will be encouraged to work towards developing a matching set, such as cups, mugs, bowls, or vases, as a way to sharpen skills.

Prerequisite: All students registering for this class should have taken at least one beginning wheel class (with us or elsewhere) and be comfortable with the basic steps of throwing.

If you register between March 28 and April 12, 2026:
First installment payment of 33%: upon registration
Second installment payment of 33%: April 24, 2026
Third installment payment of 33%: May 22, 2026

If you register between April 13 and May 10, 2026:
First installment payment of 50%: upon registration
Second installment payment of 50%: May 22, 2026

If you register on or after May 11, 2026, you must pay in full.
