Mid-Summer Open Studio Session
What to Expect
Join us for the Mid-Summer Open Studio: a session dedicated to independent learning at Black Hound West. This period between the summer and fall sessions allows you to deepen your ceramic practice. Open Studio is ideal time to continue work from previous sessions, explore techniques, play, make gifts, or give yourself a creative staycation!
Participants will pay a flat rate of $260 for the session and can attend as much as they'd like. Enrollment will be limited so that everyone has space, and everyone who wants a wheel will be guaranteed one. Participants will sign up for either handbuilding or wheelthrowing.
Open studios are uninstructed but monitored by BHCS staff, who are available to answer basic questions and make sure you are using the equipment and tools safely and correctly.
The Mid-Summer Open Studio Session is currently open to:
- those who have previously taken classes at Black Hound Clay Studio (either location)
- those currently on the waitlist for Black Hound Membership (either location)
Installment payment plan available:
June 4 - July 12, 50% due upon registration
The second payment of 50% will be automatically deducted from the card on file on Friday, July 17.
After July 12, you must pay in full.
Includes
25 pounds of clay, use of all equipment, use of our fully equipped glaze room and firing of all work made during this session. An additional 25 pounds of clay may be purchased through our online store for use during this session. Each enrolled student will have a full shelf during the session with overflow storage nearby.

Cancellation Policy
Refund Policy for Mid-Summer Open Studio Session:
nIf you need to withdraw, the last day to do so will be Thursday, July 30, at 5 pm. There will be no exceptions made to this policy.
nRefunds for the Mid-Summer Open Studio requested before the above date are subject to a 10% administrative fee. You can request a refund via email at [email protected].
nIf withdrawing from a class due to a documented injury or illness, prorated credit will be issued. Please email [email protected] with class registration requests.
