2 Day Dingman’s Ferry to Smithfield Beach (21 mile trip)

Spend two fun-filled days on the water on this river adventure that takes you from the historic Dingmans Ferry Bridge to beautiful Smithfield Beach, 21 miles downstream. Two days of paddling and one night of camping make for the perfect amount of time exploring this national recreation area.

Your journey begins just south of the Dingmans Ferry Bridge, once the site of a ferry crossing for over 100 years before the first of four bridges was erected in the area beginning in 1836.

As you start paddling toward Smithfield Beach, you’ll pass many points of interest like parks, as well as several islands in the middle of the river. You may also see an abundance of wildlife local to northeastern Pennsylvania, like bears, deer, bald eagles and other birds, and other creatures that call the area home.
