3 hour - Buffalo to UYO - Self Guided - (5.7 mile)
For all ages! • 3 Hours • Kayaking and Canoeing for Everyone
What to Expect
Embark on a scenic three-hour self-guided kayak trip from Buffalo to Laytown, combining North Carolina history with quiet stretches of river and natural scenery. Paddle downstream past National Register landmarks such as Fort Defiance and the gravesite of Laura Foster, along waterways connected to Tom Dula and Daniel Boone. Along the way, the river gradually narrows and includes a few shallow shoals, adding some variety to the paddle. Keep an eye out for ducks, geese, ospreys, herons, eagles, deer and fish, with plenty of peaceful stretches to fish or simply enjoy the surroundings. A great trip for history buffs, birdwatchers and anyone looking for a relaxing paddle.
