Multi-lesson hang gliding program designed to achieve USHPA Hang 1 Beginner Pilot Rating
The Hang 1 Training Package is a structured multi-lesson program designed for guests who want to progress beyond a single experience and work toward becoming a certified hang gliding pilot. This package includes a total of six lessons, starting with one Beginner Dune Hang Gliding lesson followed by five advanced beginner lessons.
Training takes place at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head, one of the most iconic and beginner-friendly hang gliding locations in the world. Students are paired with experienced instructors and progress through increasingly advanced skills in a supportive, small-group environment.
Earning a Hang 1 rating opens the door to continued progression toward a Hang 2 (Novice) rating, allowing for more independent flying opportunities across approved locations.
