Self-Guide: Sacred Waters & Falls of the Cherokee
Streams, Waterfalls
What to Expect
Departing from the John Rock Trailhead, this ebike journey follows the winding waters of Forest Road 475 into a lush, waterfall-dense valley long used by Cherokee hunters, anglers, and medicine gatherers. You will travel alongside historic stream beds where ancestral families harvested native botanicals, fished mountain creeks, and gathered at seasonal basecamps beneath the forest canopy. Along the way, riders can hike to breathtaking sites like Cove Creek Falls and Daniel Ridge Falls, experiencing the sacred power of mountain cascades that served as places for spiritual cleansing and rejuvenation.
