About

There’s no better place to learn the sport of cross country skiing than here at Lapland Lake in the Adirondacks! Our Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) certified Ski School offers quality instruction to everyone from the very first-timer to racers seeking to refine technique.

You or up to six members of the same family or party spend a dedicated hour with one of our instructors working on the ski technique you select (classic or skate) at the level that is appropriate for your party. Shared-private lessons are appropriate for adults, children, or complete families. Children under 6 must be with a parent or guardian. When more than one person is in a private lesson, each participant should be of similar ability seeking to learn the same skills.

Please note, Day Ticket Passes are not included with rental packages or lessons. Tickets must be purchased separately online and can be added to your shopping cart.

PSIA-Certified Instructors

Our 15 job-sharing PSIA-certified instructors have 115 years of combined teaching experience, an average of more than 7 years per person, with all of those years right here at Lapland Lake! They are superb skiers, patient, dedicated, excellent communicators, and, quite simply, nice folks! They’ll have you on your way in no time at all!

Adult participants will receive individual feedback regarding skills accomplished and which skills are yet to be mastered.
