Rondout Lighthouse Tour
Take a tour inside the Rondout Lighthouse, only accessible by Solaris!
What to Expect
Visit the Rondout Lighthouse Aboard Solaris: a 100% Solar Powered Boat Built by the Hudson River Maritime Museum
Hop aboard Solaris for a unique opportunity to sail out to one of only seven remaining lighthouses on the Hudson River that stands proudly at the entrance to Rondout Creek! The Rondout Lighthouse was built in 1915, and is only accessible for tours through Hudson River Maritime Museum via our vessel, Solaris. Our knowledgeable guides will share captivating tales about Kingston's Rondout Lighthouse’s rich history and the individuals who lived there. Once we arrive, you will be invited to explore the lighthouse's fascinating interior and uncover what life was like for the keepers and their families. Feeling daring? Climb up to the observation deck for jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Hudson, the iconic Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, and, if the skies are clear, the distant Esopus Meadows Lighthouse!
Book your tour today and step into history!

Restrictions
One adult must be present for every child under 12 years of age.
For the safety of all passengers, children under 8 years of age are NOT permitted on the Rondout Lighthouse Tour. This is due to the physical capabilities needed to safely visit the Rondout Lighthouse, which require children to be able to independently climb stairs and remain standing with the group for brief stretches of time.
Infants are NOT permitted on the Rondout Lighthouse Tour, even if carried or worn in a wrap / sling / carrier. Potential tripping / falling hazards on the lighthouse stairs pose too much of a risk to permit babywearing.
We cannot accommodate strollers at the Lighthouse.
For large groups of children or children under 8, we recommend considering our On-The-Creek Lighthouse Tour. On this tour, guests will still take a ride aboard Solaris to see the Rondout Lighthouse up-close, with a historical overview given by our knowledgeable guides, but passengers will not disembark or go inside the lighthouse during the trip.
