Expert-Led Explorations: The History of the Brooklyn Bridge & Guided Walk

Join us to learn the fascinating story of the Roebling family and the engineering behind it, ending with a guided walk to the first tower of the Brooklyn Bridge.

The first hour of the program will take place Pier 1's Granite Prospect rock steps, before walking up to the first tower of the Brooklyn Bridge. The guided walk onto the bridge includes an uphill, ~ 7 block (around 4,595 ft) journey to the tower of the bridge. There is a small staircase to access the bridge and once on you can expect there to be no shade, and a slight uphill incline on concrete and wooden flooring.
