Art Under the Bridge: Rubber Stamp It! Linocut Printing on Fabric
What to Expect
Join educators from Brooklyn Bridge Park in carving stamps and printing with them on a bandana. Participants will create a design, learn how to transfer it to the stamp material, safely use lino cutters, and then print using fabric ink.
This is a fun art form that you can then easily do at home. All materials will be provided, but you can also bring your own item to print on as you please. Just make sure that whatever you bring is light-colored as we will be printing with dark ink.
No previous experience necessary. This workshop is best suited for ages 13 and up. We will be using sharp cutting tools and all participants will need to sign a waiver when they arrive. The event is first-come, first-serve with 25 spots available. Advanced registration is encouraged but not required.
Accessibility: Please reach out to [email protected] for any accessibility needs or questions. The workshop will take place at the Environmental Education Center at 99 Plymouth Street, which is an accessible building. The classroom itself has a low-pile carpet. Seating is on stools. There is regular muted noise from trains above. Bathrooms with accessible stalls are available in the building.
