Brooklyn Bridge History Tour
Explore the evolution of the “Eighth Wonder of the World”
What to Expect
Often called the the "Eighth Wonder of the World", the Brooklyn Bridge is not only one of NYC's most famous landmarks, but was a game-changing engineering marvel. On this tour, we will walk its span, and explore how it was designed and constructed.
We will discuss the Roeblings (John, Washington, and Emily) and their work in designing the bridge and overseeing its construction, as well as the sacrifices of the hundreds of laborers who brought it to life.
We will also discuss how the Bridge evolved over time, and how it brought together two cities at a key time in their own evolution.
As we cross, you will get one of the best perspectives on New York and its harbor.
Finally, we will explore a section of the historic DUMBO neighborhood.
