Wild Oyster Survey: Soundview Park
Get to know the wild oysters of the Bronx at Soundview Park!
What to Expect
Thank you for signing up to join Billion Oyster Project at Soundview Park for a wild oyster survey along the Bronx River shoreline. Wild oyster surveys are an opportunity to explore your local waterfront and build collective knowledge about where oysters live in NYC.
Learn to count and measure wild oysters along the coast to help understand current conditions as Billion Oyster Project investigates the potential to restore oyster reef habitat offshore. Participants, ages 16+, will learn about how oyster grow, and get up close and personal with the local oyster population while collecting and recording data to be used in future Restoration reports.
