What to Expect
An Oyster Research Station (ORS) is an experimental laboratory attached to a dock, bulkhead, or floating buoy by a marine poly line. In layman's terms, it is a simple mesh cage fabricated in-house at Billion Oyster Project that will house approximately 30 live oyster clumps for scientific monitoring.
At this public volunteer event, we will be monitoring our ORS' in support of hands-on environmental restoration and stewardship at the water's edge.
