What to Expect
Welcome to Oyster Games: Family Field Day!
Join us for a fun and interactive experience designed to introduce families to the Billion Oyster Project. Our Family Field Day brings the thrill of friendly competition to New York Harbor, featuring exciting activities and hands-on learning about oyster restoration..
In the spirit of friendly competition, we’ll feature a variety of oyster and maritime-themed activities, including:
- Tri-Stack-a-Thon: A competitive relay race where participants showcase their oyster restoration skills by building one of our super tray structures!
- Paper Dory Boat Building: Test your crafting skills by creating your own paper boat and putting it to the test.
- Spat Tag: Participants engage in a tag/Red Rover combo game where they become oysters, avoiding predators and eating algae just like real oysters do.
- Oyster-Themed Cornhole: Enjoy a classic game with a nautical twist.
- Crafting Activities: Dive into creative, hands-on projects.
And much more! Join us for an unforgettable day where families learn, play, and get inspired to help protect our harbor.
**Please note that this is an outdoor event. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, bringing sun protection (such as sunscreen and hats), and staying hydrated by bringing a reusable water bottle.
