Keeper For A Day
Learn about our rescues while you care for them!
What to Expect
The perfect experience for those interested in a career in the field of Animal Care, or for those simply looking to learn more about the ins and outs of how we care for our rescues!
From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, guests will shadow our staff and interns through various aspects of the day including food prep and feeding, enclosure cleaning and maintenance, enrichment distribution, public education, and any miscellaneous projects for the day.
Every day will present new challenges and opportunities and the tasks you perform will depend on the work planned for that day. We cannot guarantee any specific tasks or opportunities!
As this tour is intended to provide insight into the realities of the animal care field, guests can expect to see and learn about each of our rescues and view the entire facility while gaining hands-on experience in animal husbandry, specifically in a non-profit sanctuary setting.
Please be aware that the terrain in our upper compound can be challenging! People with limited mobility may have difficulty. We are in the process of making that area more accessible to the public, but it will take time! Please contact us to discuss possible accommodations.
Available most Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Start and end times may be flexible. Please contact us for more information)***

Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is remote, located about 4 miles down a fairly well-maintained gravel road. When the roads are dry, it’s a relatively easy (if not bumpy) ride down Candy Kitchen Road. However, when it’s wet the road can be slippery, and reduced speeds are highly recommended. Additionally, if you plan on utilizing our campground, it is strongly advised that you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle; once you get off the gravel road, the dirt roads in the area can become anything from slick to downright sloppy.
nIf you cannot make it to the sanctuary for your safety due to weather, please contact us and we can reschedule your tour or provide you with a full refund.
