Students will refine core shooting fundamentals and be introduced to key skills such as moving and shooting, handling common handgun malfunctions, employing multiple reloading techniques, adapting sight pictures for speed and distance, and executing one-handed shooting drills. This course is an essential stepping stone for those seeking to develop confidence, consistency, and control in defensive handgun use.
Prerequisites
Completion of Introduction to Handguns or an equivalent Introduction handgun course is required. Participants must demonstrate safe firearm handling, including loading, firing, unloading, drawing from a holster, and conducting reloads under supervision.

Practice drawing from the holster and recovering to the ready position
Analyze and apply sight picture concepts based on varying distances and target sizes
Strengthen trigger control through controlled shooting exercises
Improve shot placement during rapid target engagements
Build confidence in foundational marksmanship under pressure
