What to Expect
A historic Shaker broom shop is the perfect location to create 2 quintessential Shaker hand brooms. Learn to craft both a “hawk tail” and a “turkey wing” style. You’ll leave this workshop with two completed hand brooms and all tools and materials will be
provided.
Students should bring: Material for taking notes and comfortable work clothing/shoes.
Instructor: A lifelong interest in woodworking and Shaker crafts drew Dick Bennett to Canterbury Shaker Village in 2004. He has since served as a Museum Interpreter, Shaker Craft Demonstrator & Workshop Leader.
