  • The Huck Finn House – A reproduction of the house where Tom Blankenship, the inspiration for HUCKBERRY FINN lived.
  • Mark Twain’s Boyhood Home – see the original house where Sam Clemens grew up (and where the REAL adventures of “TOM SAWYER” took place). The home is on the register of National Historic Landmarks.
  • The Old Museum Gift Shop – the original museum was built in 1937 by the WPA
  • The Becky Thatcher House – home of Laura Hawkins, the inspiration for BECKY THATCHER. The home is a museum dedicated to Laura Hawkins and also explores what childhood was like in the mid 1800s.
  • J.M. Clemens Justice of the Peace Office – where Sam’s father held court and inspired legal stories decades later.
  • Grant’s Drugstore – also referred to as the Pilaster House. Sam and his family lived upstairs with Dr. Grant’s family after the Clemen's family fell on hard times.
  • Mall and Garden - A pedestrian mall divides the historic properties. A lovely garden is next to the Boyhood Home flanked by a WPA stone wall built to protect the house. Be sure to have a photo taken painting the fence.

  • The Mark Twain Museum Gallery – is a lovely 2-story building 2 Blocks down Main Street. Musuem features interactive exhibits, the Norman Rockwell Gallery, and treasured Clemens family artifacts. Time your visit to see a live performance by Mark Twain during the summer!
